Pet portraits from Nottingham

Portraits that catch the character behind the whiskers.

I am an animal lover. There have been many furries in my life and each of them had their own personality. This is what I work to capture in a portrait.

When you commission a portrait, I want to learn about your pet through your eyes and create something unique to you and your pet, something you can treasure.

How it feels

A collaboration, not a conveyor belt.

Catherine works from photographs because most pets have better things to do than sit still. The more photos and stories you can share, the more life she can bring to the portrait.

Pencil portrait of Googoo and Popeye

Pencil and graphite

Beautiful contrast, soft detail and a timeless monochrome finish.

Wax crayon pet portrait

Wax crayon

Brilliant for blending fur, light, shadow and subtle changes in tone.

Watercolour pet portrait

Watercolour

Gentle washes and texture, especially lovely for soft fur and colour.

“Each animal has its own personality, and Catherine likes to learn about her subject to capture the spirit of the animal.”
